Founded in 1989, Midwest Vocal Express (MVE) male a cappella chorus specializes in “Storytelling through Song,” performing: Traditional barbershop favorites Show tunes Spirituals Popular music Headquartered in Greendale, WI, and made up of singers from across Southeast Wisconsin, MVE is known locally for the best in family entertainment, and worldwide for their “legendary” theatrical presentations on the Barbershop Harmony Society’s International Contest Stage.
The Milwaukee Women’s Sacred Singing Circle meets to sing as a circle of women every other Tuesday (once every two weeks) for 75-90 minutes. Women may attend regularly or just occasionally. It is not necessary to have prior experience nor to be a “great” singer. We ask that participants simply come with the intent to sing for healing and celebration of life—for oneself, others near and far, and for the world. This group is for musicians and enthusiasts who love folk music, including traditional folk music, contemporary accustic music of any kind, ethnic folk music (like Irish Folk Music, or Greek Folk Music, or Spanish Guitar) and original songs.
Adults singing together, but not a choir...No auditions, no divas, and no need to be able to read music! The emphasis is on having FUN, getting together with fellow singers, and making some noise! Leave the kids at home and come out to sing with cool people like you! Every other week for a total of six sessions we'll meet at 7:00. We'll take a little time to chat, and then get a tip or two on singing before we begin. We'll spend an hour singing and then clear the stage for a solo or two for thos …
